Bobbin Lace

Bobbin lacemaking can be traced back over 500 years and remains one of the oldest and most intricate methods of creating lace. In this fascinating craft, threads are wound onto bobbins and carefully woven together, with pins used to hold the pattern in place.

In this course, students receive individual tuition and are systematically guided through a range of techniques, building a broad understanding of the many styles of lace. Those with prior experience are encouraged to extend their skills by exploring both British and Continental lace patterns.

A beginner’s kit may be purchased from the tutor (£60.00).
