MHD Promotions in association with Bet Mclean & R Kings Competitions are delighted to be bringing professional boxing once again to Newtownabbey following the sellout success of their November 2025 event which was an exciting first for The Theatre at the Mill. On Saturday 31st January 2026 the Theatre at the Mill will host the first ever championship contest featuring South Belfast native Colm “The Posh Boy” Murphy the Celtic, Irish, Commonwealth Silver and European Boxing Union featherweight champion when he challenges for the full vacant Commonwealth featherweight title against an opponent yet to be named. Carnmoney former amateur star and local favourite Kyle Smith returns as “Co Main” to the venue that saw him emphatically win his second professional contest in the first round of a scheduled six against the tough Paul Cummings from England. The remainder of the card once again sees the return to action of local favourites in Hijjah McMahon - Belfast, Gerard Hughes - Ballycastle & Carlos Pereira - Ballymena.
