Old Courthouse Film Club - The Woman King

This season of our OCH Film Club we will be celebrating Women in Film.

The Woman King (2022) is a historical action-drama set in the 1820s, following General Nanisca (Viola Davis) as she trains a new generation of Agojie, an all-female warrior unit protecting the West African Kingdom of Dahomey from the Oyo Empire and European slave traders. The film highlights themes of bravery, mentorship, and liberation.
